The Sinking City 2: First Gameplay Video Showcases Cosmic Horror in Arkham
Ukrainian developer Frogwares offers a first look at The Sinking City 2—a survival horror game set in the Lovecraftian universe of the 1920s—in its first official gameplay video.
In The Sinking City 2, you find yourself in the flooded Arkham of the Roaring Twenties—and in this horror game, that literally weighs on your mind. Frogwares’ third-person survival horror game sends you into a world steeped in cosmic horror and filled with Lovecraftian nightmare creatures: Deep Ones, Mi-Go, and occult fanatics are waiting to make your survival a struggle. There’s also a full-fledged inventory system, optional puzzles, and locations you can revisit, which reveal new secrets the further you progress in the game.
First Gameplay – But Not Final Yet
Frogwares explicitly emphasizes: What you see in the video for The Sinking City 2 is still in development and does not necessarily reflect the final quality. Still, it’s worth a look, as Unreal Engine 5 with Lumen lighting and Nanite geometry already delivers impressive visuals. Kids should probably look away, though. Your decisions in the game influence the story’s outcome, and side quests provide gameplay bonuses.
The Sinking City 2 has no fixed release date yet, but a tentative "Summer 2026" has been shared, so hopefully we don't have a long wait ahead!
