‘Much more than just a remaster": Croteam presents The Talos Principle: Reawakened

The Talos Principle: Reawakened is back with new content and spruced-up graphics. What can the ultimate edition of the classic game do?

‘What is a remaster?’ asks publisher Devolver Digital in the launch trailer for The Talos Principle: Reawakened, the final remaster version of an extremely acclaimed puzzle game from Croteam. A rather simple question, which is all the more irritating because in The Talos Principle players are confronted with profound philosophical questions about existence.

‘A reminder of the past or a chance to create something new’

Answers are indeed provided in the launch trailer. According to Devolver, The Talos Principle: Reawakened is much more than just a visual upgrade. In this revised version, which has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, you will experience a much more beautiful Talos. Although not with the added bonus of a proper remake, the world looks more alive and appealing than ever before with its new textures, effects and richer vegetation. At its core, of course, it remains a philosophical science fiction game with crunchy puzzles that are somewhat reminiscent of Portal in terms of gameplay - only now The Talos Principle is more beautiful. And the new Reawakened version is the most comprehensive edition with its bonus content.

Additional developer comments in the Reawakened Edition are a nice extra for Talos fans. And the new puzzle editor allows you to create your own puzzles, share them and solve the creations of thousands of other players. The Talos Principle: Reawakened also includes the additional, very positively reviewed content ‘Road to Gehenna’. This expansion takes players beyond the doors of the simulation and challenges them to free the souls of the suspects - whatever the cost.

And one more extra: A brand new chapter expands the story of The Talos Principle. In this brand new section, you'll be transported back to the final days of the old world, experience a quiet afternoon with Alexandra Drennen and her colleagues, and get up close and personal as the simulation is brought to life. New challenging puzzles, developed in collaboration with the Talos community, also await clever (dis)figuring minds.
