GWENT: The Witcher Card Game - Public Beta Now Live!
Shuffle the decks and prepare for an adventure with the Witcher gang, as the popular mini-game Gwent goes standalone and launches the first public beta to help test the game.
If you have been living under a rock for a few years, Gwent is the mini-game that found itself to be one of the best things about 2015's hugely expansive RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While the card game was only available as part of the game, developers at CD Project Red decided that due to the critic response and support from their fans that they would make Gwent a standalone experience that would rival other popular card games such as Hearthstone.
It has been available in a closed beta for some time, but today marks the first time it has been available as a public beta so anyone can get involved for free and test out the game for themselves. Unlike Hearthstone, the gameplay itself can be a little challenging to newcomers but once you have mastered it's rough edges you will find yourself thrust into a deep game that can rival even the best card games.
Should you want to see how the game is, you can get the lowdown on Gwent and it's gameplay in the new trailer below. As you will have a limited amount of cards, you will need to learn how to play smart and adapt to the situation.
