Total War: Pharaoh devs show off new features in a brand new video
Pyramid building remains mysterious, Total War: Pharaoh does not, as the development team introduces the new features of the upcoming strategy game in a new feature video series.
Developer Creative Assembly knows very well that Total War strategy games can be challenging, because every Total War also comes with a set of game mechanics that will leave newcomers in particular at least wondering. That's why informative feature videos, in which developers specifically point out and explain game elements, novelties and improvements in detail, are extremely important for games like Total War: Pharaoh.
In the first dev feature video for Total War: Pharaoh, Creative Assembly describes the importance of settlements, outposts, distinguishes between military and economic positions and lets units move across desert sands. The sieges are also multifaceted: Instead of having to reach only one mission objective (Victory Point), players have the task of conquering several points in cities, for example. The more areas the defenders of a city lose, the more the morale of the defending troops drops.
The planning of a major offensive in the run-up to a siege is already exciting. Large siege units, such as huge ladders for climbing over walls, are not simply placed in the area of operations at the click of a mouse. You have to build them beforehand and budget time and resources accordingly. Are you strategists for the rough stuff? Then rain fire on enemy positions. This makes defenders sweat, but also destroys parts of fortresses you might want to take over. The repair bill will then surely come on parchment.
Total War: Pharaoh Features
Fight in a dynamic world: Weather conditions and fire change battlefields and affect your strategy. Lead your army through rain, sandstorms and flames and use the terrain to your advantage.
Choose your hero: Become the Pharaoh or the Hittite King and conquer a diverse campaign map. Play with eight faction leaders who have different units and play styles. Be a diplomat, a commander or a warlord and make history in your favourite role.
Experience Ancient Egypt: Immerse yourself in an opulently rendered and vivid virtual representation of ancient Egypt in its heyday. Travel from the Nile to the Sinai Peninsula, to Asia Minor and discover the beauty and cruelty of the land.
Create your campaign: With new campaign customisation options, you can create your own challenge with individual starting situations. Influence your resources, natural disasters and more. Play with the cards or against them, but always aim for victory.
