Turok: Origins gets a new gameplay trailer filled with pure dino action
Is the Cerebral Bore making a comeback? Saber Interactive has released new gameplay footage for Turok: Origins, showing what firefights against prehistoric beasts and alien enemies actually feel like.
The clip for Turok: Origins offers a glimpse into the weapon arsenal and the variety of enemies in the reboot of the cult classic series. The N64 fog of war from the classic has cleared—now you have a clear view of everything! In the new Turok, take on the role of one of the legendary Turok warriors and battle—solo or in online co-op—against dinosaurs and an alien threat that has set its sights on all of humanity. Plasma rifles, sniper rifles, bows, shotguns, and experimental alien technology are all part of your arsenal, which you’ll expand and upgrade as you progress through the game. Will the infamous, brutal Cerebral Bore return as a weapon? Even the gameplay trailer doesn’t give us an answer to that question.
Collect DNA, Unlock Abilities
Instead of simple loot systems, Turok: Origins relies on a DNA mechanic: Defeated enemies provide you with materials that let you unlock new abilities and Echoes, which allow you to customize your combat style. Your journey takes you through the so-called Lost Lands, from ancient ruins to dense jungles to strange alien worlds that hold plenty of secrets.
A specific release date for PC has not yet been announced, but the trailer indicates that Turok: Origins is set to be released in fall 2026.
