Vampyr Documentary Series - Episode 1: Making Monsters

Developer DONTNOD gives players a glimpse at their upcoming Vampire Action RPG game Vampyr, with a new 4 part behind the scenes series documentary. New episodes each Thursday.

Focus Home Interactive and DONTNOD Entertainement (wbo are best known for creating Life is Strange) are set to release their next big Action RPG game Vampyr later this year on June 5th, after seeing a few delays push it back. Though extra time to finish a game is never a bad thing, and often leads to even better titles. Today they have released the first part in a new "behind the scenes" web documentary video series that offers fans a glimpse at their upcoming Vampire RPG.

Each video will feature a certain theme, with this week's being "Making Monsters" and tells us a little about the monsters included in the game. The main focus of Vampyr will be on the protagonist Dr. Jonathan Reid, who is thrust into a new world as he becomes a vampire and uses his newfound abilities for good (or evil). Choice plays a big part of the game, and you'll be able to decide whether or not to kill foes or spare them. Vampires are self-aware and intelligent, unlike Werewolves or Ghouls who struggle to control their actions.

Vampyr takes place in 1918 London, after the First World War where the Spanish Flu has caused chaos in the streets, and it's up to the Doctor to try to stop it. Unfortunately things don't go his way and he ends up becoming a vampire. It's then that discovers a new world with monsters and supernatural powers that he never noticed before. With so much choice in how you approach your decisions, will you be a terror in the streets or the savior of London? The choice is yours! Each action has consequences.

Each new episode will be delivered weekly on a Thursday, and give players a deeper look at the world of the game.
