Slitherine Next 2025: Major update lineup for the anniversary finale – an overview

With the Slitherine Next 2025 Showcase, the publisher used the closing event of its anniversary year to present a long list of new projects, DLCs, and updates. The show offered fresh insights into ongoing developments, surprising new announcements, and specific release dates. If you missed the presentation, here is an overview of all the important information.

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector

Slitherine has presented a comprehensive roadmap for Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, including the Ultramarines expansion with new units and special abilities. A fresh story campaign expands solo and multiplayer experiences with varied scenarios and tactical decisions. In addition, a free update will deliver new features and balancing adjustments. The Black Legion DLC, scheduled for release in early 2026, will bring additional units and strategic options that will make your mission on Gladius even more diverse.

Battlesector is currently available for a limited time with a whopping 76% discount in our big Slitherine sale, where you can also get other games from the publisher at a lower price.

Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow took center stage at the start of Slitherine Next 2025. The tactical game is getting a new specialization for the US faction called “Baltic Battalion,” which combines troops and technologies from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. You'll get access to modern European equipment, rapid response forces, and additional tactical options. The package will be available for free.

Runequest: Warlords

The newly released Runequest: Warlords takes you through an 18-part campaign centered around Hahlgrim and his allies as they face the Chaos invasions. In addition to the story, you can choose from three playable factions in multiplayer or skirmishes: Talastar, Chaos, or the Lunar Empire. Rune magic plays a central role in tactical gameplay. We are currently offering a 15% introductory discount for the launch. We presented the latest gameplay video yesterday in a news article.

Battleplan

Battleplan is a strategy game that simulates large-scale operations over weeks. You issue high-level commands that your officers execute independently, while you draw complex attack and defense plans directly on the map. The game will be playable from February 23 to March 2, 2026, at Steam Next Fest.

Headquarters

Headquarters: World War II is entering its next phase with a new logo. In addition, Headquarters: Cold War has been announced, which tells a fictional NATO–USSR scenario in 1984. You can expect two campaigns with ten missions each, as well as several skirmish maps. Registration for the beta is already open on the official registration page.

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius

For Warhammer 40,000: Gladius the Rampage Pack has been released. It adds eight new units that are offensive in nature and open up additional tactical possibilities.

A Lens On – Season Two

The second season of the documentary series examines political and technological developments during the Cold War and links them thematically to ICBM: Escalation. Historian Dr. Benedict Walsh provides background analysis on armament, diplomatic crises, and technological upheavals. However, the Slitherine Next presentation remained at the announcement stage for the time being.

Panzer Corps 2

Allied Operations - Italy Vol. 1 marks the start of a new DLC trilogy for Panzer Corps 2. You lead British and US troops through two parallel campaigns that overlap during Operation Husky. Historical locations and strategic decisions shape the game's progress.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command

The upcoming “Eradicators” pack expands Starship Troopers: Terran Command with a Battle Group DLC focused on Territory Mode. New research units focus on chemical, nuclear, and biological weapons. The release is planned for early 2026.

Scramble: Battle of Britain

The Slitherine team showed development progress in the early access version of Scramble: Battle of Britain and confirmed version 1.0 for spring 2026. The Channel Defense campaign follows a personal RAF story in which your decisions influence the morale and combat strength of the squadron.

Stormbinders

The turn-based fantasy title Stormbinders is based on classics such as Heroes of Might & Magic 3, but expands the genre with dynamic weather and magical storms that influence battles and spell effects. Exploration, fortress building, and faction diversity are the focus.

Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance

The DLC “Evolution” has been announced for the game Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance, which takes you to an icy region of Canada. Nine missions feature limited visibility, harsh terrain, and new units such as the Rev 6.5. A melee combat system for certain troops adds to the tactical options. Release period: early 2026.

Radio Commander

Slitherine is taking over the Radio Commander brand, thereby acquiring two independent titles. In the already available Radio Commander: Vietnam '64, you command US troops exclusively via radio commands, while Pacific '41 takes you into naval warfare against Japan. The latter is already in early access and is scheduled for completion in spring 2026.

Bolt Action

With Bolt Action, Slitherine is creating a digital adaptation of the well-known tabletop rulebook. Instead of a 1:1 copy, the aim is to create a modern game version, including an army editor, 3D battlefields, and miniature-inspired unit models.

Nightmare Frontier

The early access game Nightmare Frontier, developed by Ice Code Games, has been added to the Slitherine portfolio. In an alternate 20th-century America, you and your squad fight grotesque creatures born of pure fear. A fresh update adds to the final boss battle.

Tournaments with Slitherine games

Finally, numerous tournaments were announced, including formats for FOG II, Warhammer 40k: Battlesector, Headquarters WWII, Panzer Corps 2, Combat Mission, and other titles. Registration is already open—you can sign up for tournaments on the official website.
