7 years after release: New map ‘Return to the Reik’ for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is coming soon

Fatshark is celebrating the anniversary of the action-packed Warhammer Vermintide series with a new, free map: Return to the Reik. The mission for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a modern reinterpretation of a classic map from Vermintide 1, ‘The River Reik’, and takes the Ubersreik heroes back to the Reik, where they recover a lost heirloom and once again face the Skaven and Chaos hordes.

The new edition offers much more than the usual revamped maps: additional paths, new encounters and more dynamic battlefields ensure that the map feels familiar, but is fresher and more varied in terms of gameplay. The highlight is the boat passage across the river, where you can interact with functioning ship cannons.

The map also boasts technical improvements: revised platform and movement mechanics are designed to ensure a smoother gaming experience. Return to the Reik is available free of charge to all Vermintide 2 players. A preview of the map, which goes live on 20 November, in pictures and video.
