Wartales, The Skelmar Invasion - A new challenge for RPG fans

The expansion Wartales, The Skelmar Invasion is out now and is the fourth major DLC for the tactical open-world RPG from Shiro Games. Travel to the Ormance region, which has been overrun by the Skelmar tribes. The aim is to gather the survivors, rescue the Countess and repel the occupying forces through strategic fortress battles.

Gameplay and characters

The gameplay modifications in Wartales, The Skelmar Invasion are centred around the introduction of siege mechanics. Players will experience intense fortress battles divided into several phases. In the first phase, the defences outside the gates are breached while siege engines are strategically deployed. Once a breakthrough has been made, the troops advance inside to defeat the Skelmar leader. These battles require tactical thinking and optimal use of resources, as supplies must be secured in addition to manpower and building materials.

In addition, a new character class is being introduced to Wartales in parallel with the DLC release: the crossbowmen. This versatile unit is not only available to everyone with the DLC, but also thanks to a free update for the base game. But beware: the enemies also use this new type of weapon, which makes the battles more challenging.
