Beets and Rockets
Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic is a building strategy and economic simulation game in which you develop a Soviet republic into an industrial power. With the upcoming Space Programme DLC, you’ll no longer just be churning out steel – you’ll also be conquering space. The expansion will be released for PC on November 23rd 2026 and will be available on Gamesplanet at launch.
In Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic – Space Programme, you research space technology at universities, produce propellants such as kerosene, N₂O₄ and UDMH, and manufacture rocket components in factory halls, which are then assembled in assembly halls. Specialised vehicles then deliver your equipment to Standard or Proton launch bases. From there, you’ll send satellites, poor creatures and, eventually, humans into orbit, along with modules for space stations. In doing so, you’ll be following in the footsteps of Sputnik 1 and the Vostok programme. Mission control and test facilities reduce the risk of failed launches, because a rocket burning up near a city is a rather unplanned display of fireworks.
The new DLC campaign begins in the early 1960s in Baikonur, where the economy and population are already stable. This allows you to familiarise yourself with the new systems at your own pace. Observatories, planetariums and statues attract visitors, whilst solar thermal power stations harness the sun’s energy.
