I do understand that this is an EU game code but will using a VPN to one of the above mention countries work? I am from South Africa and have an EU Battlenet account afaik.

replyYou'll need an EU Battle Net account and being in Europe to activate the code. If you meet both of those requirements it'll work for you.

replyHey, Black Ops 4 does not have a traditional single player campaign, however there are Specialist missions that are playable solo (with bots) - these are more like regular multiplayer modes with training to each specialist.
You also have the standard Multiplayer and Blackout Multiplayer modes, Zombies does feature "Mini Campaigns" that can be played solo or with friends.
