Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is comparatively undemanding even at 4K resolution and still achieves surprisingly high frame rates even with a lot of graphics details. We pit an RTX 2080 Ti against an RTX 3080 graphics card in a comparison and take a look at the graphics details on our PixelPerfect comparison channel.
When Activision released Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War a few weeks ago, we were amazed at the stable frame rate at 4K resolution. Even on the day of release, the game ran like clockwork. At least with a 2080 Ti, the game clung strongly to the decisive 60 FPS limit. Only with ray tracing activated do you have to be careful. It's clear that with such a resolution, weaker graphics cards have to accept some sacrifices. Then gradually reduce the graphic details and observe the effects on the FPS counter.
For our graphics comparison on PixelPerfect (subscribing makes you a lovely cookie), we not only take a closer look at the graphics details at the three presets Ultra, Medium and "lowest", but also take a look at how an RTX 2080 Ti compares with a newer RTX 3080. We have therefore left the FPS display on in most scenes. So you can see for yourself whether it's worth switching from a 2080 Ti to an RTX 3080.
