Located in Germany and bought the UK key - activation via blizzard/activision account thingy worked perfectly and was done within 2 minutes. Apparently the battle.net-client had an issue with the synchronisation of the accounts so I couldn't download the game via the client for alomst a day. Gamesplanet support has been very nice and understanding even though it wasn't even their fault since the game got clearly activated and registered into my account.
