I had the beta on Steam but really didn't crank it up but one time and when I saw "multiplayer" I closed it out as I'm not really much on multiplayer games. I wasn't going to get the game, but something told me to take a chance and see. So I ordered it. It's a Steam game so if you have Steam you can activate it with the numbers in the game box and it starts downloading. It takes awhile if you brought the DVD version as it comes with one DLC pack which adds to the size to download. (Mine showed something like 40-50 gigs with the pack but I understand if you just have the game, it's around 38 gigs.) Since I have cable broadband this didn't brother me to much but if your running something else then it might be a hassle. Anyway, after getting it down and finished installing, I cranked it up. Like most games today, it take a bit to load as you go thru two menus but what I liked right off the bat is the number of items you can tweak if you want. I also noted that all I had to really change was the brightest and that was it. I launched the game and realized right away that I'm going to have to get used to this! Since I use a Xbox 360 pad, I was pleased to note I had no problems getting into the action at all. The game plays very well on my system and the biggest problem I had was learning how to stay alive at first. I'm working on the single player game, and I must admit, I've really liked what I've seen so far. This isn't your old Doom or even your old Doom 3 but a sort updated Doom. The idea of gaining health by ripping demons apart I found a bit interesting.

Indeed it's a great FPS, hopefully the upcoming DOOM Eternal will be just as epic! Just under 2 months to go ;)
