DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations Expansion revealed - coming July 7th
Revelations is the first major story expansion for DOOM: The Dark Ages, introducing a new weapon and new demons. A free Ripatorium 3.0 update will also be released alongside it.
DOOM: The Dark Ages throws you into a medieval-inspired war against the forces of Hell as the Doom Slayer. Brutal, action-packed, and unforgiving—and with a Metacritic score of 85 out of 100, undoubtedly an outstanding shooter. Now, nearly a year after release, Bethesda has unveiled the first campaign expansion for The Dark Ages: Revelations. The announcement was accompanied by a first trailer shown during yesterday's Xbox Games Showcase.
Revelations: The Slayer Fights His Way Out of His Own Mind
DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations launches for PC on July 7, 2026. The expansion sends the wounded and betrayed Slayer into a merciless purgatory—more specifically, a prison of his own mind. With the help of a mysterious ally, he must confront his inner demons, build new powers, and ultimately defeat a godlike creature to pave the way to freedom for his followers.
Chain Spear, New Levels, and Ripatorium 3.0
The add-on introduces new levels featuring more challenging puzzles, fresh enemy types, and a new weapon: the Chain Spear. This chained spear significantly changes the feel of combat, adds greater mobility, and rewards mastery with increasing power.
At the same time, id Software will roll out the free Ripatorium 3.0 update for all DOOM: The Dark Ages owners. More free content for everyone: three new maps, improved passcode options, and the ability to save and load custom presets. Players who purchase Revelations will also unlock additional demons and fully upgraded weapons for use in Ripatorium mode.
Revelations will be available as a standalone purchase. Those who already own the Premium Edition of The Dark Ages (or the Premium Upgrade) can relax, as Revelations is already included.
