Are the Far Cry: New Dawn HD textures worth it? 4k Graphics Comparison Video

Far Cry: New Dawn offers HD textures to further enhance the game, but are they worth it?? We have taken a look at the recently launched open world game with a brand new 4k Graphics Comparison to find out!

Without a doubt, Ubisoft's open world of Hope County Montana in Far Cry: New Dawn looks brilliant even without HD textures, especially at 4k and the Ultra preset. Our sister channel PixelPerfect went for the highest possible settings to compare the HD textures on and off to see the differences (if any). You'll have to look close to see a difference, and if you're on foot or in a car you may not notice much of an improvement at all.

With the graphics comparison we wanted to answer the question as to whether or not the installation of the pack is really worth it, especially since the pack requires a 20gig download. We also did a performance test to see if the textures being on made a difference to the game with the more detailed surfaces. The results were surprising, at least with the GTX 1080 Ti and settings we used. With the textures set to ON we actually gained performance and the FPS was slightly higher. Are the HD textures being used in the benchmark? We couldn't tell, but we tested them in the game and had a look the counter as well. You can take a look at our benchmark at the 3:37 mark (as well as the settings we used to test with).

it's like a different game with them on. I must have them on, I have played FC5, and am playing New Dawn, and I think New Dawn is a better game, graphically it's beautiful, more than 5, which I didn't think I could say, and gameplay-wise too. One of the most beautiful scenes for me was the tyres and fluorescently painted cars at the fight pit in a night setting. You also don't get that sun rays coming thought the window and hitting the leaves in one bright spot effect in FC5, that you do in New Dawn.

I enjoyed the New Dawn art style too, the pinks felt very nice and even though it's technically the same map from FC5 it did make a difference in setting .
