would this addon have an effect on multiplayer capabilities?

We've not heard of any issues by our customers so far, thus I believe it will have no effect on multiplayer capabilities.

my friend bought it, and anytime i try to start a multi game with it enabled he says it has no connection, but i disable it and he can connect to my game, so im not sure whats going on. also he never had to enter his serial number. so im sure thats part of the issue
