Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris DLC - Opening Cinematic, First Mission Gameplay and New Details

Bungie revealed more about their first upcoming expansion Curse of Osiris for their shooter MMO Destiny 2, which is arriving on PC and consoles on December 5th.

Curse of Osiris Opening Cinematic

Recently we got our first look at the upcoming Curse of Osiris DLC for Destiny 2, and now Bungie have lifted the lid on brand new details as they livestreamed a reveal event over on their Twitch Channel, which gave players a sneak peak. This time the action will take place on the planet Mercury, and the Warlock Osiris along with a few returning faces such as Ikora Rey will be trying to stop various enemies from taking over the planet. There's plenty to look forward to as the expansion adds a new planet, raid lairs, a new level cap, rewards, new story missions and much more.

Some people have managed to get early hands on with the expansion, and thanks to IGN they have been lucky enough to capture the first opening mission from the expansion which sees a return to the Lighthouse that was previously in the original Destiny (for those lucky enough to visit it).

The player level will be raised with the expansion and Guardians will be able level up to 25, with a power level cap going up to 330 (335 with mods). One of the new characters you will come across when you visit the new planet is Brother Vance, who is a scholar and follower of Osiris. He serves as the reward giver for the Lighthouse and a new engram will be available to those looking for another faction reward. Ikora Rey will also be returning, and she has a score to settle with her once Warlock teacher Osiris and his Ghost Sagira.

Curse of Osiris will feature 8 story missions in total, with 3 of them taking you to the Infinite Forest - a place that will challenge even the most powerful Guardians as they are constantly changing from enemies you have previously fought in the campaign. Gates will block your progress until you kill a particular enemy, and in some cases a boss might await you that could offer up a new reward if you manage to take it down.

Lastly, it was revealed that Raid Lairs would be coming to the game. These will be 6 player raid activities that take place in existing places, for example, the first Raid Lair coming to the Curse of the Osiris DLC will be known as "Leviathan, Eater of Worlds" and takes place on the massive Leviathan ship (like the raid). It will offer new encounters, locations, puzzles, loot and a challenging new final boss to fight. The Leviathan Raid Lair will have a prestige mode and you'll be able to play them with the Guided Games feature if you wish. Should you want to tackle the shorter raids you will need a power level of 300 to participate. Expect Eater of Worlds to launch shortly after the release of the expansion on December 5th. Additionally another Raid Lair will be arriving with the second expansion (currently scheduled for Spring 2018).

If you missed the Stream on Bungie's Twitch earlier you can watch the VOD here, for even more on the upcoming Destiny 2 expansion. If you're wanting to pick up the Curse of the Osiris DLC you can get it as part of the Expansion Pass or Digital Deluxe Edition.
