Quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance will offer different paths

Developers Warhorse Studios talk about the quests featured in their upcoming medieval action RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance, with multiple choices allowing players to choose their adventure.

After a few delays, the medieval action RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance will finally be launching early next year, and new details are emerging on what exactly players can expect when they play it. During the EGX show in London this weekend, Warhorse Studios very own Tobias Stolz-Zwilling spoke a little about their game as well as showing off a little of the game in new footage (shown below).

Which path do you suggest?

Many games offer a simple structure in completing quests, but with Kingdom Come: Deliverance players are given choices in how they go about completing their mission. Allowing for more freedom is something that we've seen in a few other action games,(most notably the Witcher 3), and can offer replayability to those wanting to play the game multiple times. In the video Tobias shows off a few different ways on tackling one of the missions from the game. For example, some players could decide to save a certain NPC from danger, while others could decide to leave their fate in the hands of the gods.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance will be set in the 15th century Bohemian civil war and you will play as Henry, son of a blacksmith that is thrust into war. After barely escaping the attack on your village, Henry will go on a quest to avenge his family. Choices are key to your adventure and the game will allow players to tackle the entire game without killing - though at present the game does feature one target that must be killed if you want to progress. As they get closer to the release the team are looking at improving things and adjust scenes so they "feel right" to the player.

We also were lucky enough to sit down with Warhorse Studios in December 2015 to talk a little about the game, if you missed that you can read our interview here. Much has changed since then and the game is soon upon us with a release early next year, but it's clear the devs want to make the world feel alive and choices matter.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is launching the day before Valentine's Day on February 13th 2018, for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
