Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls brings Doctor Doom to the fore in the ‘Knights of Doom’ trailer

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 tag-team fighting game from PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works and Marvel Games. The word ‘Tōkon’ is made up of two Japanese kanji: ‘Tō’ means ‘to fight’ and “kon” stands for soul or spirit. So it’s no surprise that the name includes ‘Fighting Souls’. In the game, you assemble a team of four iconic Marvel characters and compete in fast-paced matches. At launch, 20 playable heroes and villains are available, each rendered in the distinctive anime style of Arc System Works – the very same development studio behind Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear Strive. The stages are based on well-known locations from the Marvel universe, some of which feature interactive transitions between the battle sections.

The combat system combines accessible mechanics with combo chains and selectable control schemes, yet offers enough depth for those who want to explore synergies between characters and customise their move sets. In addition to online lobbies for up to 64 players, there is also a single-player episodic mode that explores the backstories of the various teams.
