Get a look at the single player for the upcoming Metal Gear Survive, which is due out on February 22nd for PC and consoles. IGN unveils a brand new 5 minute gameplay video.
It's been 2 years since the last Metal Gear game, and now that Hideo Kojima has parted ways with Konami it will be interesting to see what's next for the franchise. The good news is that we won't have long to wait to find out, as the survival shooter Metal Gear Survive arrives next month on February 22nd, and now we've got our first look at the Single Player gameplay thanks to IGN.
Like Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, players are tasked with exploring the open world, building a base, creating weapons and using stealth to their advantage. The game will be set in an "alternative universe" which is separate from the main series, and takes place between the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Your goal will be to explore, and ultimately survive against threats that stand in your way including an outbreak of zombies. Players can work solo with AI teammates, or buddy up with other players as the game supports up to 4 players in Coop.
In the gameplay video we get a look at the single player mode for the game, which brings back some classic elements from the likes of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain including the return of futon extractions! We also get a look at some new weapons, including a fiery sword which is capable of slicing enemies like a knife through butter.
Metal Gear Survive launches on February 22nd for PC, Xbox One and PS4. Console players will be able to get their hands on a beta later this month from January 18th - 21st, however PC players will have to wait until the release,
