Monster Hunter Wilds - Huge first update arrives April 4th
Capcom follows up: A (free) Title Update 1 is to be rolled out for Monster Hunter Wilds next week on April 4th 2025. A trailer presents the new content - and the community is celebrating.
Capcom let the Palico out of the bag at the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase on 25 March: A major Title Update 1 for Monster Hunter Wilds will be released as early as April 4th, bringing with it heaps of new content as well as new ways to experience the game. A preview of the 2nd title update for the summer has also already been teased. Based on the depiction of blue scales and an eye-catching claw in the trailer, the community is already certain that the eagerly awaited monster Lagiacrus will return in the summer. The rumours are therefore likely to be confirmed.
Title Update 1: The most important new features for Monster Hunter Wilds
However, Update 1 is already a big one. In addition to free cosmetic content, such as an outfit for Alma and new emotes, there will also be new challenges, items, monsters and even a completely new meeting place for hunters.
New meeting place ‘The Great Place ’
From level 16, you will soon be able to visit a new hub in Monster Hunter Wilds and meet up with other hunters there. You will also have the opportunity to take part in larger events and smaller activities in the Great Site. At the festive barrel bowling event, for example, you can win items by throwing barrels. A kind of cherry blossom festival starts on April 23rd.
Leviathan Mizutsune is coming
The previously announced giant monster Mizutsune, a male Leviathan, will also be returning to Monster Hunter Wilds with Title Update 1 to challenge players. Quite a handsome beast - but unfortunately it drops coveted materials, so hunters won't hesitate for long. Bubble Bobble has never looked better.
Comeback of Zoh Shia
You may have already faced Zoh Shia in Monster Hunter Wilds. In the future, you'll be able to do so again once you've reached level 50. At this point, a new quest will appear. Zoh Shia will also be making an appearance in the ruins of Wyveria. New equipment items for your character and your Palico await you.
Arena matches with other monster hunters
The aforementioned Great Place will invite you to event quests, offer a ranking and you will compete with other players online in arena quests. Those chasing records will find a new home in the Arena. A maximum of two players can go on raids at the same time, where they are likely to score the finest items. In the ‘Free Challenge Quests’ there is no limit on equipment and you can take part with up to four players.
New monster variant: battle-hardened
Rey Dau comes into play as an ‘ore-hardened monster’ (battle-hardened). These are particularly strong versions of the monsters that drop other pieces of armour, such as the Rey Dau Gamma Set.

The trailer above only shows a small amount of the new content for Monster Hunter Wilds. Fans should therefore not miss the full stream recording. In the following video, Capcom goes into detail about the upcoming update content, presents the roadmap for 2025 and more.
