This weekened we're visiting Egypt, fighting the Red Legion, trying to stay alive, looking for Dogs and shooting demons in hell. Let's take a look at the highlights from this week - and remember you can find even more deals on the Xmas Sale Page:

Assassin's Creed Origins (Open World / RPG / Action)

It's been 2 years since the last Assassins Creed game, with the series taking a break in 2016 to allow the developers to add in some new elements to the series and the result is Assasisns Creed Origins which released earlier this year. Origins takes the series to Egypt, in one of the largest open worlds they have ever made in the franchise. You play as Bayek, Last of the Medji and must avenge his family by taking out a mysterious cult who are ruling the lands. The game is much like other entries in the series, with you exploring a massive open world - though this time there are RPG elements such as leveling up and zones with level brackets, Theres also the new loot system which can allow players to find new weapons and use them in combat. Speaking of Combat, that has been redesigned and the once "easy dodge" has gone so that a new system can take it's place. You now need to learn to counter and shield to avoid incoming attacks, It's a system that might take a little getting used to but it's a welcome change to the series.

There is so much to do besides the main story, and you'll find yourself sinking countless hours into the game if you want to complete it all.

Take up your blade and grab Assassins Creed Origins for 30% off this weekend!

Destiny 2 (Action / First Person Shooter)

The MMO Shooter has finally made it's arrival on PC with the release of Destiny 2 earlier this year. You play as a Guardian, who is tasked with fighting back against the Red Legion and their leader Ghaul as they try to take the light of the Traveler for themselves. As you begin you'll be able to pick one of 3 classes (Warlock, Titan or Hunter) and each one has their own unique abilities, for example the Titan is a "Tank" and is capable of withstanding more damage and shieldiing allies. The game features a number of activities, you have the story campaign which sees you travel the galaxy to reunite the resistance to launch an attack on Ghaul. There's also PVP available if you want to fight against other players and complete for high valued rewards. As you exaplore each of the planets you can find a world of hidden activites like Lost Sectors that are tucked away in corners of the map that offer a "mini dungeon" experience and give powerful rewards by defeating a boss.

Should you want an even greater challenge you can take on one of the more intestive 3 player Srike Missions, or take on the Leviathan Raid with a larger group. At the core Destiny 2 offers a fantastic first person shooter with MMO elements that make it enjoyable to play with friends, or solo.

Also worth noting, the PC version of Destiny 2 is a fantastic port and can run at a solid 60 FPS (even at 4k if you can handle it) on most hardware setups - which is something not even the console versions can handle.

Get Destiny 2 for 24% off this weekend, or get the Deluxe for 15% off!

Watch_Dogs 2 (Open World Action Game)

When the world first heard about the original Watch_Dogs, it blew people away with the E3 demo. Sadly though the promise of something great was quickly swept away with less than satisfying end result (and a clunky PC version at release). Fast forward to 2016 and we got the sequel Watch_Dogs 2, which put players in the shoes of Marcus Holloway, a hacker who teams up with DedSec in the San Francisco Bay Area. Like with the original game you're able to hack most anything you see, cars, traffic lights and more, this time however you're given more freedom and access to drones that can be used to access things out of reach. The world of San Francisco comes alive and Watch_Dogs 2 feels like the game the original should have been, with a likable main character and plenty of side activities to engage in. Marcus can also upgrade his abilities and is able to "3D Print" weapons and devices to use. Recently the game also got a 4 player multiplayer mode that allows players to team up and take on various activities in a group.

The game itself may not break any new ground, but it's one of the best Open World games that Ubisoft has created in a long time. There are some great moments and the city feels alive, with the characters feeling fresh and original.

Watch_Dogs 2! is 66% off this weekend!

DOOM (Action First Person Shooter)

When we got news they were making a new DOOM it was met with caution as we didn't know what to expect, luckily though id Software delivered a fantastic reboot and a fast paced action FPS title that was worth of being called DOOM. As soon as you begin the game you are thrust into the gameplay and only takes seconds from starting to be blasting away at demons. You awake aboard a table and it's not exactly clear why you're there, story in the game is present but takes a backseat to the fluid and fun shooting mechanics. If you were turned away by recent shooters that tried to give you a long back story and wanted a more action approach with secrets this may be the game for you. It also features powerups, progress via weapon upgrades and character upgrades, as well as secrets to find. Multiplayer is another key feature and recently they made all the Season Pass DLC Free to everyone, breaking down the fourth wall. Lastly you're able to create your own maps with the SnapMap feature, giving creators a chance to become creative.

The fantastic DOOM is 50% off this weekend!

Dark Souls III (Action / Adventure / Hack and Slash)

You have Died are the words you may end up seeing even when you sleep, as Dark Souls III is a game about trying to stay alive, while dealing with some terrifying creatures. If you're the type of gamer who finds most games "too easy" then the Dark Souls series is the genre for you, as it punishes you to breaking point. You may feel that it's impossible to beat the game, but with practice and learning tactics you'll come out on top. Much like other entries in the Dark Souls series, you will explore a huge open world and fight enemies, as well as trying to stay alive from countless perils that await. Combat has been made a bit faster in the third entry in the series, which can now allow players to sidestep attacks and swing weapons quicker in order to get in some sneak attacks. It will be up to the Ashen One to step foot into the Kingdom of Lothric to keep the First Flame from fading - but certain foes stand in his way and he will need to use his wits to evade and conquer them.

Step into the world of Dark Souls 3 this weekend, get the game for a massive 70% off!

Hidden Gem: Bayonetta (Action Hack and Slash)

This weekend's hidden gem is the recently released PC version of Bayonetta, which originally launched on PS3 and 360 in 2009! The updated version is a fantastic port and can offer up to 60 FPS, improved visual features such as 4k support, anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, SSAO lighting, scalable texture and shadow quality, and more. Bayonetta is the story of a witch who struggles to remember her past, over the course of the game you'll be hacking and slashing your way through various creatures from the underworld with some fast paced combat. Bayonetta has an incredible fighting system, which is something many action movies try to emulate with a mix of gun/melee combos to unleash devastating attacks on enemies. PlatinumGames have been known to create some of the best action games in recent years, and Bayonetta stands among the best the studio has created. You're also able to upgrade and equip new types of weapons as you progress further into the story, which is level based and takes you to some breathtaking locations. Boss fights are also a key highlight here as massive beasts try to take down Bayonetta, but the black haired beauty is more than a match for them and is able to pull off insane feats to squash them (including being able to lift huge objects). One of the best Action Hack and Slash games on PC, definitely a good starting point for anyone who wants to start - with enough difficulty levels to give notices and veterans something to be happy about.

Grab Bayonetta for 50% off today!

And that wraps up our Advent Weekend 2017 sales, we hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and a fantastic New Year (we'll have a few surprises in 2018 for sure). Remember to visit our Xmas Sale page for even more stocking fillers!
