Gamesplanet Spring Sale 2018: Day 4 Guide
We're at the halfway point as Day 4 of the Spring Sale has arrived, featuring even more daily deals for you! DMC - Devil May Cry (Action / Platformer)
DMC - Devil May cry was an attempt to bring something new to the franchise and was created by Ninja Theory, who would go on to create the recent Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. You play as the Nephilim Dante who must take down the demon king Mundus from spreading hell on Earth. Much like other entries in the series, you will be able to equip various weapons and perform some powerful combo attacks, this time Dante has new abilities with Devil and Angel Mode - which allow him to switch to specific weapons to take down certain types of enemies or perform actions to bypass obstacles. Levels are a mix of action with some platforming elements, you may need to hop from platform to platform in order to reach a certain object or find a secret. Dante is also able to upgrade his weapons and abilities by collecting various "souls" from fallen enemies which can be used as currency to unlock new upgrades.

DOOM (Action / FPS)
When we got news they were making a new DOOM it was met with caution as we didn't know what to expect, luckily though id Software delivered a fantastic reboot and a fast paced action FPS title that was worth of being called DOOM. As soon as you begin the game you are thrust into the gameplay and only takes seconds from starting to be blasting away at demons. You awake aboard a table and it's not exactly clear why you're there, story in the game is present but takes a backseat to the fluid and fun shooting mechanics. If you were turned away by recent shooters that tried to give you a long back story and wanted a more action approach with secrets this may be the game for you. It also features powerups, progress via weapon upgrades and character upgrades, as well as secrets to find. Multiplayer is another key feature and recently they made all the Season Pass DLC Free to everyone, breaking down the fourth wall. Lastly you're able to create your own maps with the SnapMap feature, giving creators a chance to become creative.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands (Action / Open World / Third Person Shooter)
The Ghosts are back in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, which is an third person open world action game set in Bolivia. You command a squad of Ghosts as they fight back against Santa Blanca Cartel and rid the region of threats. You're given a huge open world to explore and complete objectives in a dynamic fashion, which results in a final confrontation with bosses for each region of the game. As a Stealth Action game you're also given choice in how to approach missions, whether you want to sneak in or face things head on. Equip a variety of weapons from silenced pistols to sniper rifles, explore the world in helicopters, boats, jeeps and bikes as you put a stop to the Cartel once and for all. You're able to play the game solo up in up to 4 player co-op with others, plus there's a number of multiplayer modes to test your PVP skills on.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (Action / Adventure / Open World)
When it comes to LEGO titles few manage to deliver the perfect balance between gameplay and variety, but LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is one of the best in the series. Featuring over 200 characters and telling an original story involving Dr Doom, Magneto and other villains fighting against the likes of Iron Man, Spider-man, The Hulk, Fantastic Four and more. The game is set in an open world New York and there's plenty to do with side activities around the world, race and even bonus levels to unlock! Mortal Kombat XL (Action / Fighting / Multiplayer)
The Mortal Kombat series has been around since the early 90's and has spanned many games (and movies) over the last 20+ years. Mortal Kombat X is the most recent entry released back in 2015 and set two years after defeat of Shao Kahn. Like Netherrealm's other game Injustice Gods Among Us players take on 1v1 battles using a variety of special abilities and attacks. New to the series are the "X-ray" moves, which when triggered give players a glimpse of the bone crunching attack as it lands on their opponent. Alongside a lengthy Story Mode that sees you trying out various Mortla Kombat characters you're also given a Krypt to unlock new costumes/characters and more. There's also a challenge tower and Multiplayer modes including King of the Hill, Survivor and Test your luck. Hidden Gem of the Day: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - GOTY Edition (Action / RTS)
Today's Hidden Gem is the original Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War GOTY Edition, which is a strategy game set in the Warhammer 40k universe from the team at Relic Entertainment. Dawn of War sees 4 factions (Space Marines, Orks, Chaos and Eldars) fight it out on the Imperial planet Tartarus as they compete for power. The story involves you playing as the Space Marines who have landed on the planet and must battle the Orks by capturing outposts while scavenging resources from the planet. Combat involves commanding a group of units and moving from one objective to the next. Each race has their own unique units and strengths, plus buildings which can upgrade their faction even further. You've also got the ability to customise your units just like you could with Warhammer figures and paint them, change their banners, names and more. The game also features 2-8 player multiplayer which can see huge units be commanded to hopefully turn the battle in your favour as you fight over resources and terrirtory!
