South Park: The Stick of Truth

Ah South Park, I'll be honest here I used to watch it when it first aired on TV and eventually I stopped watching it for one reason or another. It wasn't until I heard about this game coming from the guys over at Obsidian Entertainment that I got really excited about the series again, games in the franchise were not the best and we've had some really bad South Park games. Luckily though this was not the case for Stick of Truth as it managed what the others could not, a chance to experience a game that played like a season of the show. You play as the new kid in town, as you travel the town you'll meet beloved characters such as Mr. Hankey, Chef, Jimbo, Santa, Randy Marsh and course you still have the original gang of Kyle, Cartman, Stan and Kenny. Gameplay is turn based combat with some RPG elements, you can even use allies to help you in battle (such as Kenny riding a magical unicorn into battle). While the combat does become a little lacking and the game isn't long, the story and humour is what keeps this game great.

One for anyone that's ever seen a South Park episode and laughed, doesn't even matter if you haven't seen the series in years (though it might help for some of the characters). There is also a sequel coming later this year on December 6th and can be pre-ordered right now for a free copy of Stick of Truth + The Towelie Pre-order character bonus :)

Go fetch the Stick of Truth today for 75% off!

Dragon Ball Xenoverse

Highly recommend Dragon Ball Xenoverse, not only is it the first proper game to come to PC, the port is great and it lets you create your own character in a semi MMO style world. There is so much to do, Story missions, Parallel Quests, Online/Offline Battles. The game can become repetitive after a while, but you can play how you want.

You start by picking a race from either Saiyan, Namekian, Frieza Race (yes it's called that), Human or Majin, then you're thrown into the story which revolves around a mysterious pair distorting the timelines to change history and it's your job to put history right. If you got tired of the same old story mode in Dragon Ball games then this is a welcome change as it's you in the game fighting alongside Goku, Piccolo and the rest.

Story mode should take around 15-20 hours depending on your playstyle, but you also have the options to do Parallel Quests which are objective based missions set on a map (that may take you to different areas). I managed to sink in about 63 hours in total, though I can see others getting more/less time depending how much you enjoy doing the PQ's.

Game has a whole heap of characters too, you can train under Masters like Cell, Goku, Android 18, Piccolo and even Mr. Satan (or Hercule for the modern fans). This is a dream to play, I hope one day they manage to do a sequel but for now this is probably the best Dragon Ball game on PC. As for DLC, you might find the price is too high to justify the content and I don't think it's really worth it. If you get the Bundle it's probably the cheapest way to get the DLC since some of it is less than an hour long and most of it is characters/items/moves.

There is even a brand new Dragon Ball Xenoverse coming in a few months on October 28th. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will feature even more characters, larger cities, new transformations and new stories!

In short, this is a great game for Dragon Ball fans and you can get the game or grab the Season Pass , both are 76% off. We also has the Dragon Ball Xenoverse Bundle which contains both the base game and season pass for 79% off (best value)!

BioShock Infinite

2013 was such a great year for videogames, we had so many great titles it was probably one of the best years ever for gamers. Bioshock Infinite was not only a great game, it was the best story I had played that year (including GTA V which was my favourite game of 2013). I'd never finished the previous games in the series and that was ok since this is a completely separate story that doesn't really share a connection with other games in the series. You play as Booker De Witt, a private eye that's been hired to rescue a girl called Elizabeth from a city in the clouds - Columbia. One of the biggest draws of the game is the way it connects characters and they come alive like an animated movie, it's a real treat seeing banter between Elizabeth and Booker. Elizabeth has her own power that allows her to open up dimensional tears to other places which can be used to help Booker by finding ammo, health or money at even the most dangerous times when you're in trouble.

Like previous entries in the series you're given a great landscape to explore though it does feel a bit limited to previous Bioshock exploring and has a more linear path (though that's not really a bad thing). In the original games you were given plasmids to help you out, this time they are replaced by vigors which do various things like summon a flock of crows, possessing enemies (even machines) to help you out and much more! Each one can even have an upgraded effect, best of all every single one can be combined with another to create even more fun. Since most of the game features you high above the clouds in a city it does also bring with it a new element as you use a skyhook to grapple from skylines for faster movement in the air as well as using it in combat as a melee weapon. You do still get plenty of weapons in the game and most of them can be upgraded to do more damage, there are also gear upgrades that allow you to do various things with weapons.

One of the best stories in a game I have ever played, it's full of emotion and even if the gunplay doesn't feel great at times it doesn't matter one bit. It's a game I could recommend to anyone for the joy of exploring Columbia with Elizabeth.

We have Bioshock Infinite for 77% off and all the games in the franchise are also up to 80% off!

Should you want to get the Bioshock Triple Pack that contains all 3 Bioshock games we have that too for 86% off!

As a reminder - If anyone owns any of the Bioshock titles they will receive a free upgrade to that specific version when the remastered versions hit PC on September 13th. *Bioshock 1 and Bioshock 2 will get upgraded versions, Infinite will not!

Assassin's Creed 2

When I first played the series I started with the original Assassin's Creed, I ended up buying Assassin's Creed 2 while still playing the game. Eventually I gave up with the original so I could move onto the second game, from the moment I was thrown into the game I could tell something was special - a quality the first one lacked in some way. You play as Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young Italian noble who suffers tragedy and is forced into becoming an assassin to avenge his family. Being set in the city of Italy during the 15th century makes things rich in history and art, famous faces such as Leonardo da Vinci offer help and may give you some upgrades to help you out on the way. The city is a sandbox filled with plenty to do, from finding feathers to exploring hidden assassin's tombs. It's also the first time I felt connected to the character, Ezio is an interesting character and this is the first step in his journey, some would argue Brotherhood may be the better game but for me this is the best in the series, second only to Black Flag. If you want to start anywhere in the franchise, start here.

It's available here for 75% off, we also have the entire franchise on sale for up to 75% off too!

Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag

Black Flag is one of the best in the franchise, like Assassin's Creed 2 it features interesting characters, great gameplay and a massive open world including for the first time ever the ability to have ship combat to do battle on the open waters. Edward Kenway gets drawn into the world of pirates, assassins and templars as he travels the open sea. So much has gone into creating this, you can deep dive for treasure, explore hidden coves, hunt animals (including Great White Sharks) and even build your own fleet to use in sea battles. Fighting other ships feels refreshing, you still get the usual things in the series such as hunting down targets to kill, solving puzzles but it's quite a moment being at sea with your crew singing a shanty as they charge into battle. It's not just one of the best in the franchise, it's to me the best pirate game ever to be created, if you ever wanted to be a pirate this is the best way to experience that life.

Walk the plank this way towards the Game, get the Deluxe or Season Pass for 75% off, we also have the entire franchise on sale for up to 75% off too!

Assassin's Creed Syndicate

I've played most of the Assassin's Creed games over the years with 2 being my favourite and Black Flag coming a close second. Syndicate took what I loved about both of those games and mixed them together, it had great characters, a great open world London to explore complete with grappling around from rooftop to rooftop and enjoyable missions. That's not to say it didn't have flaws like most of the titles in the series it did suffer from being a bit repetitive - would be great if Ubisoft took a little time out from making it a yearly franchise. All in all though it was easily my 3rd favourite from the series and something even those burnt out by previous entries will adore, hopefully we'll see the Frye twins in another title!

Get it here for 45% off, we also have the entire franchise on sale for up to 75% off too!

Star Wars Battlefront II

Ever wanted to be an Ewok battling Storm Troopers on the forest moon of Endor? Well good news because you can do that and much, much more. Battlefront II has so many modes and features it's quite a feat they managed to pack in that much into the game. You have battles in Space, you have the Clone Wars, you have Heroes vs Villians, and a campaign set between Revenge of the Sith and ending during Empire Strikes Back. Multiplayer is the big highlight here with support for up to 64 players (just like Battlefield), but they shut the servers down so it's a little hard to get a game off the fly. There are workarounds to go should you feel the need play you could try GameRanger. The ultimate Star Wars experience for everyone that's wanted to battle in the universe against others.

Grab it here for 75% off, we also have the entire franchise on sale for up to 75% off too!

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

Jedi Knight II is quite possibly one of the best Star Wars videogames ever made. Game engine was moved to the Quake III engine which allowed for new gameplay mechanics such as Lightsaber Dueling and a brand new 3rd person mode. Plenty of new force powers got added such as Force Heal as well as old favourites with some improvements such as throwing a lightsaber or deflecting a blast with it. Levels are huge, requiring you to solve more puzzles and filled with plenty of secrets to discover. The game has plenty of famous faces/locations like Bespin where you meet Lando (who is voiced by Billy Dee Williams). Multiplayer is your standard fair, think part Quake III with Lightsabers and you're in the right place.

Grab it here for 75% off, we also have the entire franchise on sale for up to 75% off too!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Without a doubt the best Star Wars game ever created (at least to me). This is set 4000 years before the Star Wars movies and is based in a time when the galaxy had plenty of Sith and Jedi doing battle. One of BioWare's early RPG's that set the foundations for many of their later classics such as Dragon Age: Origins, Jade Empire and Mass Effect. You start off the game waking up in a ship that's under attack with memory loss having no idea who you are, as the game progresses you'll find the answer to those sleepless nights and discover some new truths.

Gameplay wise you have a whole heap of things to do from racing swoop bikes to playing Pazaak. Companions are a big part of the game, you can have a party of up to 2 which you can switch to in combat should you require their expertise and equip them with armour/weapons just like you would yourself. Dialogue may give you an option to pick from a number of choices, these choices end up being your moral compass in how you interact with people. Perhaps you are the person that likes to rule everyone and wants to cause as much harm as possible, you can do just that but be prepared for the outcomes. The story is a great tale and something I feel may have even been great as a movie in the Star Wars universe, plenty of places to visit and things you wouldn't expect make this my favourite Star Wars (and RPG) of all time.

Grab it here for 75% off, we also have the entire franchise on sale for up to 75% off too!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords

Like Knights of the Old Republic before it, KOTOR 2 starts you off aboard a ship with another case of memory loss and you take control of a Droid which has to repair the ship so it can dock with a station to heal you. Many of things that made KOTOR a great game are still present in this, as well as new additions such as new Lightsaber cystals with better effects such as recovering force powers you use quicker. Speaking of Force Powers the game improves on the original by adding 30 new ones to play with such as Force Enlightenment, Force Suppression, Force Light and more. Also new are prestige classes, a sub class based on being a Jedi/Sith depending on your choice these improve powers and stats.

When the game was released the story had some missing features and has a disappointing ending cut short due to the rushed launch, the community has taken it upon itself to fix most of the bugs/missing content and I would highly suggest downloading The Restored Content Mod. Lastly the game had a big update a few months back which improved the game by adding support for modern resolutions, gamepad support, achievements and more! A great title and one of my top Star Wars games, I still prefer the original but this is just as good (if not better in some places).

Grab it here for 75% off, we also have the entire franchise on sale for up to 75% off too!
