Creative Assembly working on new Total War games, unveils Total War Saga series for PC
Creative Assembly announces Total War Saga games, coming to PC and offering a mini chunk of the historic war RTS games we all know and love.
A brand new set of Total War games is coming to PC, going under the name "Total War Saga" these new entries in the series will be standalone mini adventures which will focus on exciting moments from historic eras. Previously they have done something like this when they released the Fall of the Samurai, which was a standalone version to Total War: Shogun 2 and did not require the base game to play.
While details are scarce right now, the new Total War Saga game is being billed as a "spiritual successor" to Total War: ROME II. With a similar time jump that was present with Total War: ATTILA. Players who have enjoyed the Fall of the Samurai standalone can expect to see more of the same, with a few surprises as well.
Game Director Jack Lusted had this to say:
With our big releases that cover entire eras, like Rome or Empire, we’ve been following them up with standalone games that focus on a single character’s life and the time around them; like Napoleon or Attila. But there are also these key, pivotal points in history which don’t necessarily revolve around a single character, and only lasted a few months or few decades at most. Such moments also tend to be constrained to a tight geographic area as well.
But it's not just this new series of smaller standalone experiences that players can look forward to, as there is also another fully fledged Total War game in the works and it will be set in a brand new era, that has not yet been featured in previous games.
While Sagas does not yet have a release date planned, the next entry in the Total War series will be coming September 29th with the launch of Total War: WARHAMMER 2, which can be pre-ordered now and get your key instantly + bonuses when the game is out.
