Video: Pragmata gameplay explained in 90 seconds
Capcom has released a compact overview video for PRAGMATA that sums up the key gameplay mechanics of the new sci-fi action adventure in just 90 seconds.
Pragmata is a brand-new IP from Capcom — not a sequel, not a reboot, but something entirely new. The game takes you into the near future, where you play as the mercenary Hugh, accompanied by Diana, a childlike android, as you navigate a moon research station controlled by a hostile AI. Your goal: somehow make it back to Earth alive. Sounds simple — but of course, it isn’t. Want a quick overview? Then check out Capcom’s 90-second explainer video.
Hacking meets shooting: Pragmata’s dual-character gameplay
The twist lies in the interplay between the two main characters. Hugh handles the classic action elements: movement, combat, and gunplay. Diana, on the other hand, is the team’s digital specialist. She hacks enemy robots and breaks through digital locks that Hugh could never open on his own. The core gameplay loop revolves around this synergy: first use Diana’s hacking abilities to expose enemy weaknesses, then follow up with Hugh’s weapons for precise attacks. Trying to brute-force your way through will quickly get you killed.
Pragmata launches on April 17, 2026, for PC. If you’re still unsure, you can grab the free “Sketchbook” demo on Steam and try out the combat system yourself (just click “Play the Steam Demo” on the product page). Pre-ordering on Gamesplanet not only gets you a 10% discount, but also two exclusive Sengoku-style outfits for Hugh and Diana: Neo Bushido and Neo Kunoichi.
