Stalker 2: Easily mod your own weapons with the new Zone Kit
GSC Game World has released an official video demonstrating how to use the Zone Kit, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s in-house modding tool, to add custom weapons to the game.
Create and Import Your Model
In the new video for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the developers at Ukrainian studio GSC Game World walk viewers through the process of designing a custom weapon model and importing it – complete with textures – into a modding project. Once imported, the model is refined, materials are assigned, and a proper in-game presentation setup is created.
The video also shows how the weapon blueprint is extended with effect components, including firing sounds and visual effects like muzzle flashes (muzzle flash shadows, anyone?!).
Finally, the custom weapon is loaded into the game via the developer menu and tested. Everything works as intended – sound, animations, and effects included. The finished mod can then be saved, managed, and shared with the wider STALKER 2 community.
This tutorial is designed with beginners in mind: GSC clearly explains each step, and many processes rely on prebuilt templates. That means even newcomers to modding can dive in with confidence.
