Gamescom highlight: New scenes from Stalker 2 - release postponed to early 2024

The post-apocalypse shooter Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was supposed to be released in 2023, but GSC Game World still has to polish and decided to push it back a few months. Take a look at the new Gamescom trailer!

2023 is already going down in history as one of the best years in gaming. The release of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, on which the Ukrainian developer studio GSC Game World is currently working, would have been just the cherry on top of the cake. But the studio has to go back to the drawing board and optimise Stalker 2 for release. Stalker 2 will no longer be released this year, but according to the developers, hopefully at the beginning of 2024. That's okay - we still have enough game material anyway, don't we?

But of course it is a bit of a shame. GSC Game World was confronted with extremely glaring obstacles during development. The war of aggression of the Russians has noticeably slowed down the project. The studio has also not been spared hacker attacks and leaks.

Fans are quite taken with the new trailer, "Bolts & Bullets", which GSC is showing at Gamescom 2023. It shows areas in Stalker 2 that will be familiar to many Stalker fans. But appearances are deceptive: there are years between Stalker and Stalker 2 - even the zone is no longer quite the same. Stalkers better make sure they always have enough ammunition with them. Because the free-roaming, mutated dogs seem to be extremely hungry. As hungry as we are in Stalker 2.
