Stalker 2: Patch takes aim at irradiated bugs
Mutants, radiation, and a ton of bugs in Stalker 2. Fortunately, an upcoming update aims to fix many of these issues soon.
Good news for Stalker fans: the first update for Stalker 2 is expected to roll out this week, targeting several critical bugs. While the exact release date of the patch is still unknown, developer GSC Game World has shared a preview of what’s coming. Here’s an overview of the most important changes:
Fewer Crashes
The update focuses on resolving technical issues that currently hinder gameplay. Additionally, it includes balance adjustments and minor tweaks. Key highlights of the patch include:
- Fixes for various memory allocation-related crashes.
- Corrections to bugs and softlocks in quests that previously blocked progression.
- Improvements to graphical issues such as headless NPCs, faulty clothing textures, and broken facial animations. Graphics quality and stability of visual effects will also see enhancements.
- Quest notifications will now display correctly during dialogues.
- Optimized NPC behavior, such as seeking shelter during emissions.
- Upgraded and modified weapons will have increased value compared to standard versions.
Future Patches
Upcoming updates will address additional problems, with a special focus on A-Life, the dynamic NPC system that breathes life into the Zone. While this feature has been functioning only partially, future patches aim to restore it to its full potential, making the Zone feel truly alive once more.
