Shinobi: Art of Vengeance - SEGA Villains Stage DLC featuring iconic gaming characters

With the SEGA Villains Stage DLC, three iconic villains from the SEGA universe will face off against Ninja Joe Musashi in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance on April 3, 2026. A new animated trailer shows what you can expect.

If you’re not yet familiar with Shinobi: Art of Vengeance: This hand-drawn 2D action platformer comes from Lizardcube (Streets of Rage 4) and sends you, as the legendary ninja Joe Musashi, on a quest for revenge through over a dozen visually stunning stages. Katana, kunai, ninjutsu, and ninpo are among your tools as you take out enemies with precise combos. And it’s been well-received: an average score of 86/100 on Metacritic and “Very Positive” on Steam. Now SEGA is announcing new DLC content with an animated trailer.

Three Villains, Five New Stages, a Wild Crossover

The SEGA Villains Stage DLC brings three true genre icons into Joe Musashi’s world on April 3: Goro Majima from the Yakuza and [Like a Dragon](https://gamesplanet.com/ series, Death Adder from Golden Axe, and Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog. The package includes five new stages, three new Ninpo abilities, three outfits, two Boss Rush modes, and six new music tracks.

At the same time, a free patch will be released on the same day featuring a Hardcore mode, combat system adjustments, and improvements to character outlines, the map, and tutorial displays—even without purchasing the DLC.
