Is the key activation tied to your Steam store region or you actual geographical location? I'm currently in the USA for a couple months but still have my Steam store region set to the UK (so all prices show in pounds) - will I be able to activate the key or not? I'm guessing not but worth asking!

It's tied to where you are, if you're in the UK you'll be able to activate it. If not you'll have to wait until you are.
