Is the code for this redeemed on the official site or is this for the steam version?

iirc zenimax handles steam and own account separately, best ask their support directly

We've asked the Bethesda Team and they confirmed it works for both.

That's a brilliant question. As you will need to redeem through an ESO account, it should work. Be sure we can issue a refund if it turns out to not be the case.
