Revisit the Gothic series in Skyrim with the Gothic Orpheus Mod
A fusion of two role playing giants: Modders have recreated "Gothic Orpheus" quests and items from the RPG classic Gothic in Skyrim.
Recently we were treated to a brand new RPG from the team at Piranha Bytes when ELEX launched, but fans are still looking to their Gothic series and have launched a brand new mod which features quests and items from the first two Gothic games in Bethesda's smash hit RPG The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. The mod comes with 32 quests, 52 items and improvements to Skyrim combat to give it the "Gothic" feel.
Gothic Orpheus is a total conversion modification for Bethesda's RPG bestseller Skyrim, which will give players the Gothic experience in the Elder Scrolls giant Skyrim. The mod comes with 32 playable Gothic quests includes and now includes voice acted dialogue to further enhance the experience. With Gothic Orpheus the mod gives you areas taken from Gothic and Gothic 2 to explore, as quests take you back in time to the days of the Gothic games.
"There are multiple ways to solve a problem, not all of them the sort of thing a champion of the people would do in the light of day. Be good, be evil or just be a complete idiot. Any and all options are open to you."
Using the "Case of Myrthana" mod as a base, the team were able to expand on the development of the story, according to the moddb.com page the mod takes place a few years after the death of the main character. The kingdom is caught in a civil war with the Orks of Nordmar and you will be forced to sail to the nearby islands where you wait for your execution. They have promised to deliver the best possible Gothic experience by recreating it in Skyrim.
Gothic Orpheus is available in two different versions. The first being Gothic Orpheus 2.1, which can be used with the Standard Edition of Skyrim. The second is Gothic Orpheus 2.1 Special Edition, which can be used with the Special Edition of Skyrim. To install the mod, you will need to unzip the files to the \Skyrim\Data folder.
We have yet to test this mod, but here's a video of it in action:
