Startup failure / Game crashes to the desktop

If the game The Sinking City won't start without an error, there are two solutions.

• 1st solution: Start the game with disconnected internet/wifi/cable.

• 2nd solution: If this works for you, there is another solution that will work without disconnect the internet. Since an OpenSSL version in connection with a 10th generation of Intel i-series processors (or newer) there is a bug, which has been solved, but some games contains the old version of OpenSSL.

Here is a safe workaround:

1. Press WinKey+R to open the Run window. Paste in:
   SystemPropertiesAdvanced
   

2. Click on: Environment Variables
   

3. Press New in the lower frame: System Variables
   

4. Paste these values in the fields:
   Variable Name: OPENSSL_ia32cap
   Variable value: ~0x20000000
   

5. Press Ok and close the windows. Restart the computer and try the game again.
