Why is this region locked?

That's due to Ubisoft who is now setting region locks on their titles, sorry for that. We have nothing against others but have to respect their decision.
replyAnother question... Will it always be region locked here or will a global/US key be available in the future?
replyIt's possible Ubisoft will change their mind in future but for right now it's only for the countries listed, it sucks we know but that's how they deliver codes now.
replyQuick Question, I'm in Europe at the moment and will be for the forseeable future. If I buy this game and am trying to activate it on an uplay account that was originally made in the US, will it not work?
replyThat's fine, it just matters which country you are in when you activate it. You can even go back to the US after and still play this game there ;)
replyWell that sucks. That means US players have to pay full, or close to full, price on the game now. I was hoping to save $30. :/
