Trek to Yomi launches May 5th 2022, gets a 15 miinute gameplay video!
The swordplay action game Trek to Yomi now has a release date with it coming quite soon to PC on May 5th 2022. As part of the announcement, publisher Devolver Digital unveils an extended gameplay video.
With a May 5th release, Devolver is rolling out the samurai sidescroller Trek to Yomi - then heads will roll! After the presentation of the Story Trailer in March, we now see significantly more scenes from the game with the "Extended Gameplay Video". In 15 minutes the developers present the state of the game and we can convince ourselves once again that it was right to rely on a black and white look for the successful graphic style.
As a young samurai Hiroki, who certainly doesn't use his blades for slicing bread, we set out to protect our own homeland from invaders in Edo period Japan. After all, we have sworn to our dying master to take the scepter, no, the samurai sword into our own hands. The duties of a samurai must be fulfilled - we simply take our desire for revenge with us on the arduous journey in the action adventure Trek to Yomi.
Developer Flying Wild Hog Shadow Warrior reminds us of classic representatives of samurai and kung-fu movies from the western culture with its choice of black and white game design. For this, various filters and special camera angles are used, which make Trek to Yomi look like a classic movie. Games like Ghost of Tsushima (console) have shown how good this can look. In Trek to Yomi, however, you don't optionally add the black-and-white filter - it's proprietary art design and thus an integral part of the game.
Publisher Devolver Digital will release Trek to Yomi via Steam on May 5th, 2022. The promising fighting game will also be available on Gamesplanet soon.
