Now it's finally official: The Gothic 1 Remake has a concrete release date. On June 5, 2026, you will return to the infamous and revamped Minental. The release date trailer, freshly published by publisher THQ Nordic, shows new gameplay scenes and reminds us why the original still enjoys cult status today.

The Gothic 1 remake once again focuses on the colony beneath the magical barrier – a prison with no escape, where power, hierarchy, and obedience determine everyday life. In this action RPG, you once again slip into the role of the nameless outsider and must assert yourself in a harsh, merciless world. Decisions carry weight, and weakness is punished.

The development team at Alkimia Interactive has a clear goal with the remake: to recreate the special atmosphere of the original in detail. This includes the dirty camps, the lively open world, the harsh tone of the characters, and iconic elements such as Snaf's meat bug stew, the distinctive cry of a scavenger, and the omnipresent mud. The project is intended as a tribute to the Gothic universe and its community.
