I would like to purchase the global DLC when it is released, but I already purchased the Japanese version of the DLC by mistake and it is currently unplayable.

We don't know right now, as mentioned on the store page it may work with the same version, but we'll have to wait until we have the DLC from Capcom, which should be sometime this week hopefully.
