Looking forward to a few hours from now, and I take it that your assumptions on the keys being region free are based on past experience. For people who bring up Metal Gear Rising, that's because of Konami and not Platinum Games. I'm positive, because I've had the same experiences with the Castlevania games. I bought keys for those and couldn't unlock those either. Thanks a lot for trying your best to put people at ease, Fionn.
