Have now tried making a purchase from Japan. Registered to Steam as RESIDENT EVIL 7. Which means there is no block preventing activation for customers in Japan. Downloaded without a problem and launched also with no problem. So yes, keys sold here can be activated and played in Japan.

replyYep. Thanks. Sorry if I was a bit skeptical. Too many experiences in that past where things didn't work -- even when publishers thought they should! Will now enjoy playing this in the morning =)
