Hi sebbe667,

we are free to set the date on when we accept pre-orders on any game. There is no restriction on this. It doesn't matter the size, e.g. Amazon vs. Gamesplanet nor any other circumstances. The main issue is product availability and thus responsibility with our customers.

Since EA has choosen to go all "Origin first", we are careful to offer pre-orders on EA games. First and foremost, we want to ensure every gamer ordering from us will have his key on time. As we know that the stock made available to us is limited, we choose to start taking pre-orders later than anyone else. It would make no sense at all to offer pre-orders early and then have to either cut pre-orders or complete suspend them. We accept pre-orders later but guarantee delivery of keys.

Do we miss out on business, do we possibly earn less on EA games? We surely do but we still prefer to be honest and be known for reliable and trustful service. Last but not least: There are so many more games than those from EA…

thank you very much for the comprehensive answer, excellent CS as I have come to expect from you guys! =)

The approach Gamesplanet is taking with EA games actually makes a lot of sense to me, now that you have explained so well; it seems to be the most fair and secure option to ensure satisfied customers on one hand and maintaining GP's reputation as being extremely reliable and actually putting the customer first... a rare decision in this day and age.

I can only congratulate Gamesplanet for this choice, and the candidness with which the CS team communicates these high level business strategies with the community!

It's a shame that I didn't get a Gamesplanet voucher for my birthday, I guess. ;)
